About our films

How can I see a film?

To see a film, you have two options:

FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE
If you choose our fixed rate monthly subscription, you will be able to see all the films in our catalogue marked MONTHLY RATE as many times as you like and on four different devices (PC, laptop, tablet and iPhone) while you are a subscriber. The FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE does not include films released in cinemas during the last two years, short films or series. You must be a registered user of filmotech.com to subscribe to the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE.

You can check out the films available in the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE by clicking on the CATALOGUE tab and selecting the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE option.

How can I tell if a film is in the BOX OFFICE or the FILMOCLUB?

All the films available in the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE service can also be rented on an individual basis through the BOX OFFICE. However, there are films in the BOX OFFICE service which you will not be able to see through the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE – films which have not been released in cinemas or which were released duringthe last two years. In any case, all the films which you can rent from the BOX OFFICE are clearly labelled to that effect.

BOX OFFICE symbol

How long do I have to see the film?

You can see the films in the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE for as long as your subscription lasts, and on four different devices (PC, laptop, tablet and iPhone).

On the other hand, rental of BOX OFFICE films is for a 48-hour period starting from the first playback, during which you can see the films as many times as you want.

Does the rental expire if I haven’t seen the film?

You can see films in the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE catalogue as many times as you like while your subscription remains active. Once the subscription period ends, you will need to renew it.

In the case of films from the BOX OFFICE rented for 48 hours on a pay-per-film basis, this rental DOES NOT EXPIRE. The 48 hours of viewing start from the first playback of the film. In this way, you decide exactly when your 48-hour viewing period starts.

Each time you want to see the BOX OFFICE or FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE film which you have rented on an individual basis, all you need to do is login as a user, go to your personal space MY ACCOUNT and look in the MY BOX-OFFICE FILMS or the MY MONTHLY RATE FILMS sections.

How can I search for a film?

It’s very easy. You have two options:

1. In the SEARCH field on our home page, enter the title, director or actor you want to find. All the results related to your search will appear.

2. From the home page, click on the CATALOGUE tab. Having opened it, you will see fields such as production type, genre, language, subtitles and year. In this same section you can also check which films are in the FILMOCLUB MONTHLY RATE and which are in the BOX OFFICE.

You only need three things to see a film via filmotech.com:

1. Internet connection with broadband greater than 3Mb.

2. Adobe Flash Player 10.0 or greater installed on your computer. If you don’t have Flash Player installed or have an older version, you can download it here.

3. filmotech.com is compatible with the following browsers: Internet Explorer 8.0, Firefox 3.6, Safari 5.0 (use of older versions of these products could have less than satisfactory results).

I have a promotional code. How do I use it?

If you have a promotional code, you must first register as a filmotech.com user. There is no charge for this. You only need to click on REGISTER on the homepage. Once you have submitted your data, you will receive an e-mail at the e-mail you have provided with a link you must click on to confirm your registration.

What quality adjustments are there for viewing the films?

Viewing of filmotech.com content is done via Dynamic Streaming, a streaming method which, transparently for the user, alternates between the various viewing qualities based on the broadband width available at any given time.

In this manner, the system itself varies the quality based on our Internet line for a comfortable and optimal quality viewing experience.

Can intermittent pauses occur during the film viewing?

If your broadband line has less than sufficient speed (less than 3 Mb), there may be short pauses during the viewing of the film. However, to avoid this problem we recommend that, once you have started watching a film, you stop playback for a few seconds by clicking on the PAUSE button on the viewing screen to allow buffering to continue. Then press PLAY and the film should playback normally.

Nonetheless, for the most comfortable viewing of filmotech.com films, we recommend an Internet connection of greater than 3 Mb.

If you have a broadband line with a Wi-Fi connection, please be sure that your line is protected so that other persons cannot make unauthorised use of your line, with the consequent repercussions on your actual broadband availability.

Can I use the fast forward/ pause/ rewind controls with the film?

Yes. You can fast forward, pause and rewind as often as you like. You simply need to use the corresponding buttons on the film player.

Can I burn the films onto DVDs?

No, the type of service provided by filmotech.com is for viewing the films by streaming in real time.

Can I watch filmotech.com films on my TV set?

Yes. You can see the films on your television by connecting the video and audio output jacks of your computer to the TV set. Most new computers have these.

How do I connect my computer to my TV set?

There are many possible ways of connecting your equipment and seeing filmotech.com films on your TV. We suggest some of the easiest as follows:

Connection by VGA:

VGA cable

The latest-model digital television sets provide for connection to a computer via a VGA cable. This cable is similar to that for the computer’s monitor and provides a better quality image.

Connection by S-VIDEO:

S-VIDEO input jack

This connects the S-VIDEO output jack of your PC to the S-VIDEO input jack of your TV with an S-VIDEO cable. This type of connection offers very high quality picture and sound.

Connection by RCA cable:

TV set input jacks for audio and video

If your computer doesn’t have an S-VIDEO output jack, you will need to connect it to your TV using RCA cables (these have 3 plugs: yellow for video, red and white for audio).

You can do this in different ways:

1. Connecting audio and video separately:

RCA audio cable

Audio connection: connect an RCA-Y cable to the audio output jack of your computer (usually light green) and the other plugs of the cable to the red and white jacks of your TV.

RCA video cable

Video connection: connect the video output jack of your PC to the yellow socket of the TV with an RCA video cable.

2. All-in-one audio and video connections:

RCA audio and video cable

If you have an RCA cable with three output and three input jacks (yellow, white and red), connect the video plug as shown above and the audio plugs (red and white) to an RCA jack adapter which will connect to the audio output jack of your PC (light green).

RCA/S-VIDEO Euroconector (SCART)

In any case if your television has neither S-Video nor RCA connections, you can make these connections with a SCART (Euroconector), like the one shown in the photo.
