Miguel de Lira (Feodor) and Segio Zearreta (Mijail) are two brothers who were carried away by torrential rains when they were little, along with their cow, Muchka, to a lonely spot on the coast of Spain’s Galicia region. Isolated from the world and the war going on all around them, they grow up at the base of a lighthouse, living off of the things that the sea brings to them, “crebas” in Galician, things that have washed up onto the shore. In this place, they create their own world – a unique reality-fantasy universe. Their daily life changed when their cow, Muchka, disappears. The bothers start a desperate search which will take them inland and they will find Nazis, Falangistas, and Yankee soldiers.
