The Cine en Construction 21 jury decided to award the Cine en Construction 21 prize to the Colombian film ?
La Sirga,? one of the six works selected to compete in this edition of the Latin American film grants.
Cine en Construction 21 was held last week as a part of the Toulouse festival Rencontres Cinémas d?Amérique Latine, and will be followed up next September by the presentation of the Cine en Construction 22 Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
The film
La Sirga, produced by Óscar Ruiz Navia (Contravia Films) and Diana Bustamante (Burning Blue) as a co-production with Thierry Lenouvel (Ciné-Sud Promotion, France), Edgar San Juan (Film Tank, Mexico), Issa Guerra and Sebastián Sánchez (Puntoguionpunto, Mexico), is the first feature film to be made by Columbian director William Vega.
The Cine en Construction de Toulouse award consists of post-production services provided by the associated companies, and promotion services and initiatives for the winning film.
? The CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l?Image Animée) contributes with an aid grant for completing a project, with 10,000 euros for post-production work in France.
? MACTARI will be offering a sound editing service worth 15,000 euros.
? TITRA TVS will provide subtitling for the first copy of the award-winning film.
? CAISSE CENTRALE D?ACTIVITÉS SOCIALES DU PERSONNEL DES INDUSTRIES ELECTRIQUES ET GAZIERES (CCAS) will provide accommodation for the winning director for five weeks, during the post-production or promotion of the film in France.
? EAUX VIVES will be responsible for coordinating the post-production of the winning film, over four weeks, to the value of 8,600?.
? FIREFLY will provide use of their software suite for colour correction of the winning film.
? COMMUNE IMAGE will provide a film theatre equipped with Christie DLP Cinema projector with real-time viewing on an 8-metre screen and a
Firefly Cinema calibration console for digital post-production in HD, 2K or 4K, to the amount of ?17,000, or a similar service for 10 days in an image
editing room, to the value of ?10,000.
Special CINÉ + en Construction Award,, granted by the CINÉ + TV channel, worth ?15,000, which guarantees purchase of the winning film by the channel, and broadcasting on television following the release of the film in France.
European Distributors and Exhibitors Award , EUROPA DISTRIBUTION undertakes to promote the winning film throughout its network of 110 members and particularly among the 35 European distributor members of the Europa Distribution International (EDI) project.
CICAE (Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d'Art et Essai) will make a contribution to the publicizing of the winning film by distributing related information to the 2,000 CICAE member cinemas, thereby creating awareness of the film among distribution companies and boosting its circulation.
