Waiting so long for it to come and went in a flash. Easter is over. And, with it – in Spain at least – the stormy weather, along with all the tasty treats of the season. It's time to get back to the routine, anxiously looking ahead to the next holiday. Meanwhile, cinema can keep us entertained. One of the most eagerly-awaited films of the year comes to Spanish screens this Friday. Navarre filmmaker Montxo Armendáriz brings us No Tengas Miedo (literally “Don't Be Afraid”), the story of a young woman who has to overcome the abuse she suffered in her childhood. TV actress Michelle Jenner leads the cast rounded out by Lluis Homar and Belén Rueda playing the parents, and Ruben Ochandiano, Cristina Plazas and Nuria Gago. At filmotech.com, we make the most of this release to offer you other works by one of the best in Spanish cinema today.
Upcoming Premieres in Spain: Nordic Superheroes, Japanese-style Romances, and More about the Economic Crisis.Added to the above-mentioned No Tengas Miedo, a flood of all kinds of films is coming to Spanish theatres. The documentary Let's Make Money shows us the dirty tricks played by those responsible for the global economic crisis. It's a magnificent film which will infuriate us much the way Inside Job has done. With the crisis not over yet, The Company Men examines what can happen to top executives when they go from earning millions to unemployed overnight. A romantic touch comes with Noruwei no mori (Norwegian Wood), a long-awaited film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's best-selling novel. And, from France, we can see the fascinating L'empreinte de l'ange (Angel of Mine), a suspense drama in which a cloud of suspicion hangs over two mothers, victims of a dark secret. And, we wrap up here with a superhero film we've long been waiting for: the powerful Thor and his hammer will surely have us shaking in our seats.
