The Spanish short film genre is in top form and that has just been affirmed by the jury at the Jersey Shore Film Festival. The short film 7 dias by Madrid filmmaker Javier Ramirez Dampierre, has just won the award for Best Short Film at this American festival, after having recently won the Award for Best Latino Short Film at the Mexico International Film Festival.
7 dias shares a personal anecdote of the director well-suited to romantic comedy. Roman and Beatriz, two strangers to one another, are trapped inside a cinema theatre and fall hopelessly in love. In only seven days, they find what they have been looking for all their lives. However, they didnt anticipate that destiny can sometimes deal them a bad hand.
Javier Ramirez Dampierre was born in Madrid in 1977 and, after studying at the New York Film Academy, he began his career as a soundtrack composer. He has also worked as an editor and filmmaker for television for broadcasters like Telecinco and Cuatro, as well as for various producers. Nowadays, hes immersed in pre-production of his first feature film titled El silencio de Marcos Tremmer , co-produced by the Mexican company Septimo Sello. Carmelo Gomez and Nieve de Medina may have the leading roles in the film.
