Rehearsals for Los abrazos rotos are just underway a read-through for the lead actors Blanca Portillo, Lluis Homar, Jose Luis Gomez and Penelope Cruz, for the film by the director from Spains La Mancha region. Almodovar has just set up a blog in which he will be reporting on whats going on in my life in the spare moments I have to write, as he did with his previous film, Volver. This does not mean, as Almodovar hastens to add, that he will be giving out details about the film in this blog. On the contrary, I intend to say as little as possible about the story and the characters I will get lost in the periphery, in the tangents. What can we read in Pedro Almodovars new blog then? For the moment, we can see some shots of the reading of the script and, in the future, we will be reading what has been going through his head during the shooting of the film: the books hes reading, the music hes listening to, the people he meets or the news which gets his attention. Meanwhile, Pedro Almodovar will be shooting one of his films through his subjective reality. Thats not a bad start.
