The most expensive movie in Spanish film history has been showing for two weeks now and so far has brought in over eleven million euros (and it still isnt out internationally). Amenabar has never had a flop yet, and Agora isnt going to be the first.
The Ugly Truth goes straight in the charts to second place, earning 1.77 million. This new comedy by Robert Luketic stars Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, two of the top young Hollywood actors. It just goes to show that the romance genre never fails.
Our youngest cinema-goers have kept G-Force up there in the top ten. In its second week it has fallen to third place with 840,504 euros, making a respectable total of almost three million so far. Furthermore, the 3D version came fifth with 655,910 euros, which means that the combined total for both versions comes to over five million since its release.
The horror genre also has a place in the top ten most popular films: Orphan , the third film by Jaume Collet-Serra, has made 670,704 euros here after its success in the United States, where it grossed more than 47 million dollars.
Quentin Tarantino and his Inglourious Basterds are in sixth place with 448,268 euros (9.9 million since it was released five weeks ago), closely followed by REC 2 with 436,672 euros (4.72 million over three weeks).
In eighth place we find Woody Allen and his Whatever Works with 393,858 euros. This comedy, which represents the filmmakers return to New York City, has earned 2.43 million euros in three weeks.
Finally, the Argentine drama The Secret of Her Eyes is in ninth position with 373,595 euros (and a total of 3.09 million made in the last four weeks), followed by new release Carriers which after its first weekend came in tenth with 356,584 euros.
