While not presented in the official competition, expectations were palpable at the Sitges Film Festival for the first film project of Ferran Audi, director with extensive experience in the theatre. The star of the film is Aitana Sanchez Gijon, who plays a tormented mother.

The Frost is a kind of fable for adults clearly inspired by "The Peid Piper of Hamelin”, in which the Widow Rat is played by Swedish actress Bibi Andersson. The film is about the pain some parents suffer who lose their son, and it is then that they begin to feel guilty for not having loved their child as much as they should have.

Filmmaker Jaco Van Doarmel also came to the Catalonian coastal town to present Mr. Nobody , a film about the difficult decision of a child of whether to stay with his mother or his father. The director is presenting a film with a narrative out of order, and even Van Doarmel himself admits that it is somewhat chaotic. The all-star cast is led Jared Leto, along with Diane Kruger.

Today was also the projection of Splice , a film by Vincenzo Natali showing us the dangers of mixing the DNA of distinct species of animals to create other, new creatures. And, Timer , a story about new Technologies and a bracelet which tells us when we’ve found our soul mate.
