The tenth edition of Animadrid has just finished, after nine days devoted to international animation. Irish filmmaker David OReilly and his short film Please Say Something came away with the Best Short Award, carrying 9,000 euros in prize money.
The 2009 Animadrid Awards are notable for great cultural diversity; after Please say something , Japanese filmmaker Mirai Mizue won the second Best Short Award for Devour Dinner .
The Best Spanish Short Film prize went to Luis Zamora Pueyo with Daniel's Journey , while Rocio Martinez Montiel and Jose Manuel Navarro Angel won the Cortinilla Award for Alternative Madrid. The Animation School Prize was awarded to a South Korean production: Shall We Take a Walk? .
