Brendan Fraser, an expert in the fantasy genre, has conquered the Spanish box-office with
Inkheart, a film of magic adventures based on the exciting novel by Cornelia Funke which earned 727,226 euros in its debut week, an amount quite low to have the weekends best receipts.
Taking second place on the list is
Millenium: Part 1 Men Who Hate Women. The film seems to be following the same pattern as the book on which it is based and, after four weeks in cinemas, continues in the top box-office rankings. This time it earned 596,624 euros.
Third on the list is the new version of a classic,
Terminator Salvation, starring Christian Bale and receiving 6,030,987 euros in total, after three weeks in Spanish cinemas.
Beyonce has had a very discreet cinema debut in Spain at fourth place with her film
Obsessed , a movie which was in first place at the US box-office, raking in 28.5 million dollars. In Spain, with 448,304 euros, it hasnt even crossed the half-million mark. This week, it was followed by
Angels & Demons , at 390,775 euros.
School holidays have brought various childrens films into the Top Ten list. Among these are the sixth place
Coraline , with 379,596 euros, followed closely by
Lilly the Witch: the Dragon and the Magic Book , at 366,886 euros.
The raunchy humour of
Zack and Miri Make a Porno couldnt get past eighth in its premiere week. The film starring Seth Rogen, has had revenues in Spain so far of 262,740 euros. Renee Zellweger and her
New in Town also didnt start off on the right foot, placing ninth, with 255,237 euros in earnings.
