Obra Cultural [cultural foundation] of CajaCanarias , the Las Palmas Film Festival and the Gran Canary Island Council, continues to reap the benefits of its two years in production. It has been chosen for the official section of the
11th Ismailia International Festival for Documentary & Short Films, in Egypt. The festival, organized annually by the Egyptian Film Centre, is intended to be a world-wide showcase for the creation of cinema in the short film format. The short film produced by Quiroga has become the most widely shown Canary Island short film of all time, having appeared at more than 100 festivals which choose it for their official sections, and has been shown in festivals on five continents: Europe (70), Asia (10), Oceania (6), America (27) and Africa (3).

Guillermo del Toro. With the tone of a macabre comedy, it reflects on physical abuse and ones acceptance of personal responsibility. It has been the first Spanish short film to win the Best Short Film Award at the Oporto International Film Festival, "Fantasporto", also winning at MediaFest in the Canary Islands, and festivals in Bombay, Buenos Aires, Badalona, Caceres, Ficci, Thanatos, Ravenna, Cordoba, Leeds, etc., and received two nominations for the Melies Silver Awards (Sitges). The producer Quiroga, Eqlipse PC, is currently preparing for the premiere in cinemas of
La Hora Fria, the second feature film by the Canary Island film-maker, scheduled for 14th September 2007.
