Clint Eastwood arrived in France to promote Gran Torino (a film which hes starring in as well as directing, and will premiere in Spanish cinemas on March 6).
Upon arriving in France, a nice surprise was awaiting him: an honorary Palme dOr award from the Cannes film Festival.
The Festival issued a press release to give the news: Through the years, with the recognition of his colleagues catching up with the growing enthusiasm of international critics, Eastwood has achieved the synthesis of Classical and Modern American cinema.
Eastwood first presented a film at Cannes as director in 1985 with Pale Rider. Later, he returned with Bird, White Hunter, Black Heart, Mystic River and The Changeling.
