Cate Blanchett impressed everyone with her beauty and performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a film still on the big screen in Spanish cinemas. Nonetheless, the Australian actress will once again be on camera in the new version of Robin Hood, as confirmed by the films producer, Brian Grazer.
Initially, the candidate for Lady Marian was Sienna Miller, but gossip has it that she dropped the part because she was considered too young and supposedly because Crowe didnt feel comfortable shooting romantic scenes with her due to her being extremely thin.
Rumours aside, for the moment, very few details are known about the definitive plot for the film, which could end up being called Nottingham, and that it will focus on the sheriff of the region, the eternal enemy of the thief. This time, as with Robin, we have a much kinder and more in-love police officer for Marian.
Russell Crowe will be playing both leading male roles. He and director Ridley Scott have worked together on various films, such as Gladiator o Body of Lies.
This super-production is going to cost 130 million euros and filming will get underway in March.
