Director Christian Nolan has revitalized the Batman franchise, having tremendous success with the public and critics. First came Batman Begins, a wonderful surprise for Batman fans. Nolan didnt disappoint, either, with part two, The Dark Night, with the masterful job by Heath Ledger as the Joker, earning him an Oscar for the Best Male Performance in a Supporting Role.
Now, the film world is impatiently awaiting part three. Christian Bale, the actor who has played the Batman, has said of the speculation on this latest project: "Will we do a third movie? It's got to be the right story. You can't make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing."
Theres no doubt that Bale is ready for the challenge, commenting that he " would like it if the people say, Youll never make a third good movie. I say, OK, lets make a third movie in that case, lets prove them wrong. But thats just me."
The actor has signed up to do three films, but what isnt certain is that if this project is carried out, that he will once again play Batman. Bale stated, "The fact is, I have to! I've signed up! Chris [Nolan] doesn't. So I'm in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn't want to!"
What is for certain is that the director is currently immersed in an new project, Inception, a science fiction film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
