Prisoners is a film based on an up-to-now unknown work by Aaron Guzikowski. For many, this story is of the calibre of films like The Silence of the Lambs or Seven. In fact, the script now in its finishing touches, is a jewel lauded by many Hollywood Studios.

The project’s director is Bryan Singer, maker of films like The Usual Suspects and, his latest work, Valkyrie.

Prisoners is a drama about a Boston family from which a six-year-old daughter is kidnapped, along with her best friend. The father, a reader of the Bible and an expert hunter, feels that the police aren’t doing what they should to rescue his daughter. So he decides to take justice into his own hands. In doing so, he will trap one of the suspects with a plan to torture him into forcing him to confess where his daughter, who he believes is still alive, is being held.

The film’s producer, Endeavor , hasn’t given a 100% confirmation of Christian Bale’s participation, but all indications are that a ‘yes’ will not be long in coming. Bale hasn’t stopped lately. After the box-office success of The Dark Knight pending premiere is Terminator Salvation, and he has just finished shooting Public Enemies, directed by Michael Mann.

An actor who has already announced his place in the cast is Mark Wahlberg. Meanwhile, Wahlberg returns in Max Payne, a series now in its third part.
