The Fundacion Alfredo Matas Salinas [Alfredo Matas Salinas Foundation] has just issued rules for the I Concurso de Guion para TV Movie [1st TV Movie Script-Writers Contest], with the aim of promoting new talent from the Spanish audiovisual panorama. With the goal of keeping alive the spirit of the famous producer who passed away 11 years ago, the Foundation which bears his name was established. Since then production scholarships are awarded to youth wanting to get into the world of cinema, giving them the opportunity to complement their training with hands-on experience. There are also post-production scholarships awarded to young film-makers to help them finish their first short films. Submissions of scripts in Spanish of 90 minutes can be made until 20th December 2007, competing for a prize of 12,000 euros as an advance on acquisition rights. A jury presided by Amparo Soler Leal, foundation president, and composed of professionals of well-known prestige, will award the prize in the Spring of 2008.
