On
22nd, 23rd and 24th November, the
33 Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva [33rd Ibero-American film festival of Huelva] will be host to the
VIII edicion del Foro Iberoamericano de Coproduccion Audiovisual [8th Annual Ibero-American Audiovisual Co-Production Forum], a professional meeting of well-known Latin American and European producers, directors and distributors, with the aim of negotiating cinematographic co-production projects. The festival is being organized by
FAPAE, the Federacion de Asociaciones de Productores Audiovisuales Españoles [Spanish federation of audiovisual producers associations], the
Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva [Ibero-American film festival of Huelva],
ICEX, the Instituto de Comercio Exterior [Spanish foreign trade institute],
ICAA, the Instituto de las Ciencias y las Artes Audiovisuales [Spanish institute of audiovisual arts and sciences], and the
Junta de Andalucia (Consejeria de Cultura) [culture council of the
Andalusia regional government]. As occurred at the seventh edition, it is anticipated that interesting projects will come up, some with budgets surpassing
12 million euros, which could become real cinematographic successes. To give but a few examples, out of this forum have come films like
American Visa, Chicha tu madre or Solo Dios sabe [Only God Knows], which have competed in the Official Selection of the contest in Huelva, and have garnered awards in various international film festivals. At the last edition of the forum, held within the 32nd Annual Ibero-American Festival of Huelva,
35 projects from
13 countries were selected of the 112 presented, reflecting the interest sector professionals have in cinematographic co-productions.
