Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland ), Justin Timberlake, and Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus ) will be in lead roles in The Social Network , a drama based on the formation of the famous social networking site, with a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, who worked on films like A Few Good Men and Charlie Wilsons War.
In the film, Eisenberg will be Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Timberlake will be Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster, who became Facebooks president, and Andrew Garfield will be Eduardo Saverin, another founder who left the project over financial differences with Zuckerberg.
The film will be based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, which tells how two Harvard students came to create the social network designed to bring old friends together and, incidentally, for meeting girls. However, while the website was successful and brought its users together, its two creators became estranged from one another over arguments about money, success, women, and power.
Filming will begin next month in Boston and will continue later in Los Angeles. Well-known David Fincher (Fight Club , Seven ) is directing the film and Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Cean Chaffin are producing it.
