The American newspaper USA Today has published the first photo of Angelina Jolie in her new film, Salt. The most recognised woman in the world turns into a spy in this new thriller, and we see her playing a businesswoman, blonde, and as usual a femme fatale.

Directed by Phillip Noyce (Rabbit-Proof Fence), the story focuses on Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent accused of being an underground Russian spy. While trying to escape from her superiors who think she is behind a plot to assassinate the President, she has to rejoin her family and fight for her innocence by finding her betrayer.

Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor accompany Jolie in this movie, with script by Kurt Wimmer and Brian Heldeland. In the beginning, the main character was supposed to be a man, played by Tom Cruise, but Jolies rising fame as an action film star convinced the producers to swap the hero for a heroine.
