In one of the most eagerly awaited visits to the Venice Film Festival, George Clooney and Ewan McGregor presented the film Men Who Stare at Goats in which McGregor plays a journalist who discovers a secret unit of the Army dedicated to finding alternative methods to end wars, such as persuading the enemy with the stare you give him.
"Lebanon", a touching drama which has generated enthusiasm from audiences was also presented yesterday. It tells the story of a group of soldiers inside a tank during the 1982 Lebanon War.
Also shown out of competition at the event in Venice was Brooklyns Finest, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke and Wesley Snipes, about three New York City police officers not much happens to until they are brought together in an anti-drug operation.
However, all the media attention today will be focused on the presentation of the new film by George A. Romero, Survival of the Dead.
