In the number two slot came Underworld: Rise of the Lycans . The saga goes back in time to the medieval era to show us the start of the conflict between vampire aristocrats and werewolves. The tale has generated some 1,187,447 euros at the Spanish box-office.
Taking the bronze medal this week was the comedy Bedtime Stories . Adam Sandler continues to be an expert in his genre and his union with Disney has been very profitable (925,654 euros). Following him is the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire , occupying fourth place after three weeks in Spanish cinemas.
In the fifth position is Watchmen. The film based on the exciting comic hasnt had the success expected of it and in its second week showing in Spain, it only took in 539,523 euros. Then came the comedy Hotel for Dogs , at 388,367 euros.
Antonio Banderas is in seventh position with his new film, The Code , in which film he shared top billing in the lead roles with Morgan Freeman. The two actors together have brought some 184,262 spectators to cinemas in Spain, earning it 342,699 euros.
In eight place we find The Reader , a film from which Kate Winslet finally got the Oscar for Best Female Performance in a Leading Role. It brought in 275,374 euros last weekend. In the ninth position, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button , with 264,347 euros and a total of 11,733,429 euros since its Spanish debut.
Closing out the Top Ten list was The Pink Panther 2 , which, in its third week in Spanish cinemas, earned 248,542 euros.
