Jake Gyllenhaal, best known for his performance in Brokeback Mountain, is to play the lead in Source Code , directed by Duncan Jones.

The former cowboy from Brokeback Mountain , Jake Gyllenhaal , is now negotiating his lead role in the new film by David Bowies son, Duncan Jones, to be called Source Code . This movie will be continuing the science-fiction theme which worked so well in Moon, one of the most popular films at the last Sitges festival and, doubtless, the new hit of the season for film-lovers.

Source Code is based on the story of a soldier, who wakes up one day and finds himself in the body of another person, obliged to experience terrible events which already occurred during the bombing of a train.

Mark Gordon, Jordan Wynn and Vendome Pictures managing director Philippe Rousselet will be producing the movie, and shooting is due to begin in the first three months of 2010 at the Summit Entertainment studios.

Jake Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Oscar and won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Brokeback Mountain . Lately he has appeared in Rendition , Brothers and Nailed . What's more, in 2010 two other films he stars in will be released: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Love and Other Drugs .
