Batman fans are in disbelief. Christopher Nolan, director who did a masterful job supervising the Franchise may not participate in the third part of the film series.
The Batman-on-film website states that the filmmaker and Warner Bros. Are far from reaching an agreement and the studio is even looking for a replacement. Among the candidates being discussed is Zac Snyder, director of Watchmen.
It seems that the death of Heath Ledger may have profoundly affected Nolan, not only on a personal level, but also professionally. According to the directors plans, the character of the Joker was to re-appear in Batman 3.
However, there hasnt been a definite no yet, and his brother Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer, the two script-writers, continue to develop their ideas. Still, what is clear is that shooting of the film will be delayed until at least 2012 and some are betting on 2013.
