JAVIER BARDEM NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR
Atonement, Juno, Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men are competing for the Oscar for Best Motion Picture
The Spanish actor, who was a nominee for Best Actor in 2001 for Before Night Falls is in the running for his award with tough competition. Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Charlie Wilsons War), Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton), Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) and Hal Holbrook Into the Wild), along with Bardem are hoping to hear their name called on the night of 24th February. He has already beaten the first three for the Golden Globe in the same category. Well see if hell do so again on Oscar night.

The nominees have been announced for the 80th Annual Academy Awards of Hollywood, which will be held on 24th February at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, as long as the script-writers strike doesnt prevent the red carpet from being rolled out, as occurred at the recent Golden Globes ceremony. Although we still dont know which picture will take the most statuettes, for the time-being, the highest numbers of nominees are in tight competition.
There Will Be Blood and
No Country for Old Men are tied with eight nominations each, followed by
