Director announces his coming project about the Mexican revolutionary

Javier Bardem is one of the best actors around today. Directors have to draw lots for him and the latest one to request his services was filmmaker Emir Kusturica. The Serbian director is putting together a film about Pancho Villa, and would like Bardem to take on the lead role. Kusturica hasnt discussed it with the actor yet, but is sure he will accept due to the quality of the project.

He made this announcement at the Guadalajara Film Festival (Mexico), confessing that Pancho Villa is one of his idols, one of the heroes who endure in history for a long time.

The movie will be shot in Spanish with Spanish, Mexican and American actors. The script is based on the biography of the Mexican revolutionary written by James Carlos Blake, The Friends of Pancho Villa.
