After a highly successful run in a play on Broadway, Holmes returns to cinemas as the star of a new film by the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, also the scriptwriter of the movie entitled Don´t Be Afraid of the Dark. This is about a young girl who goes to live with her father and his girlfriend in a house where, she discovers, they are not alone; they share it with some diabolical creatures.
Mark Johnson, with Matthew Robbins and Del Toro himself, are to produce the film, and it will be directed by Troy Nixey, making his debut as a feature-film director.
Holmes recently finished filming The Extra Man, directed by Shari Springer Berman with a script by Robert Pulcini.
For his part, Del Toro is now preparing the details for the shooting of The Hobbit, based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien, and adapted by Peter Jackson. Filming is due to start next year.
