The posthumous film starring Heath Ledger, Oscar winner for El caballero Oscuro, may not be distributed in the US because distributors consider the film directed by the eccentric Terry Gilliam to be too experimental a project, and therefore, too great a financial risk. The film is the story of Dr. Parnassus, a man who has made numerous pacts with the devil, and his magic show.
Heath Ledger passed away in early 2008 in his New York apartment from an overdose of medication while he was making the film. Actors Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp offered to finish his work and play the part. Despite the big names which make up the cast, promoters remain unsure about the film. They havent been convinced by Ledgers commercial success, either, although he has become a film idol due to his outstanding performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
In the United Kingdom, on the other hand, there have been no problems in this regard. The film will premiere there this summer. As for the US, a number of companies are now showing interest and experts believe it wont take long to reach an agreement.
