The countdown continues. After the publication of the first stills, and shooting in Italy having just finished, the first trailer of New Moon is out. This is the second part of Stephanie Meyers multi-million dollar Twilight saga.

As an hors doeuvre, some of the vital elements of the plot of one of the most anxiously awaited sequels over the last few years has been revealed. If in Twilight the protagonists Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) defended their politically incorrect romance (between vampire and mortal) with cape and dagger, in this second episode they are forced to separate. Jacob (Taylor Lautner) takes on the task of protecting Bella during Edwards absence, and they become bound by close ties. However, Jacob is a werewolf, one of the eternal enemies of the vampires, and now Bella finds herself caught between two tribes perpetually at war.

The box-office success of New Moon is virtually guaranteed. After all, its precursor, Twilight was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards ceremony, winning all five categories it had been nominated for: Best Movie, Best Male Breakthrough Performance (Robert Pattinson), Best Actress (Kristen Stewart), Best Kiss (Stewart and Pattinson) and Best Fight (Pattinson and Cam Gigandet).
