In its second week, Inglourious Basterds has beaten all its rivals by raking in 1.81 million euros, making a total of 5.84 million in Spain.
In second place, with takings which threatened the leading position of Quentin Tarantinos film, is Bruce Willis with Surrogates. Futuristic action movies continue to exert an attraction and this thriller about killer robots has earned 1.31 million euros during its first weekend.
After its successful screening at the San Sebastian Festival, the Argentine thriller starring Ricardo Darin, The Secret of Her Eyes , pops up in third place with 708,762 euros, followed by District 9 which continues to add to its impressive international total. This science fiction movie, godchild of Peter Jackson, has been out in Spanish cinemas for three weeks and with the 436.158 euros it has just earned has amassed a total of 4.17 million.
In the middle of the list comes Megan Fox andJennifer´s Body . This movie, the first in which she plays the heroine, has gone straight to fifth place on its release in Spain with 405.531 euros. Next comes Hes Just Not That Into You which after four weeks has earned 300,128 euros.
The just-released documentary Oceanworld 3D stands in seventh and theres certainly a place for this genre in the top ten most seen films. This film has earned 234,788 euros in its first week. Another film in 3D, My Bloody Valentine , takes eighth place with 232,786 euros, very closely followed by Gordos with 223.536 euros, which in ninth place is the first Spanish film on the list.
Last of the top ten is the comedy directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Matt Damon, The Informant! , which in its first week has come in tenth with just 201,111 euros.
