After 53 years of working in cinema, I’m very touched to receive this award.” Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde, in her statement, emphasized the remarkable work of Pablo Nuñez: "for its superb descriptive and artistic cinematographic value. If his works aren’t on display at the Reina Sofia Museum as part of the treasure of Spanish art of the 20th century,” Gonzalez-Sinde added, “it’s only because the naturalness and sensibility of Pablo Nuñez leads him to be more concerned with working and creating for others than to be thinking about the enormity of his own work.” Since 1986, the Spanish Cinema Academy has been giving this honorary award to people who have contributed to the industrial or artistic improvement of Spanish cinema in their lifetime careers.
