Filming began for
La noche que dejo de llover, first work of
Alfonso Zarauza, starring
Luis Tosar (Miami Vice, Los lunes al Sol -Mondays in the Sun-), Nora Tschirner (Kebab Connection), Chete Lera (El niño de barro -The Mudboy-) and
Mercedes Sampietro (El hombre de arena -The Sandman-) in Santiago de Compostela on 6th August and will be done over 8 weeks. The film is a road-movie which steers clear of stereotypes to show the Bohemian side of Santiago de Compostela, presenting the nightlife of drinking coffee liqueur and absinthe and talking about poetry. In essence,
La noche que dejo de llover tells a pleasant and intimate story, a fable of losers enriched by surreal atmospheres and eccentric personalities from a very unusual point of view.
Spleen (Luis Tosar) goes on an existential journey in which his meeting
La Rusa (Nora Tschirner) completely transforms both of their lives. According to Luis Tosar, Spleen is someone filled with hopes and dreams, with a strange and romantic mission in life in essence, a Bohemian vagabond of the Compostelan nightlife. The Galician actor described the director, Alfonso Zarauza, as someone who has fought hard to get ahead in spite of the difficulties and the precariousness of Spanish cinema. In the same way, the unconditional support the actor has shown stands out, along with that shared by everyone involved in the project. The film is being created in the ambience of the Galician region and uses characteristic elements of it, such as its humour, but, from its inception, is designed with an international audience in mind. In fact, the project being produced by
Iroko Films and
Perro Verde Films has already been presented and well-received in Germany and the United States.
