Petit indi , by Marc Recha, is the only Spanish feature film selected to participate in the 62nd edition of the International Film Festival of Locarno. The movie will be shown within the famous Piazza Grande section, which means that the screening will take place in the Renaissance square of the same name, in front of eight thousand spectators. This festival will be held from 5 to 15 August and <>Petit indi will be shown on the 11th.

With this latest one, that makes four productions by this Catalonian filmmaker to have taken part in this festival. In previous years El cielo sube , Tree of Cherries and August Days made it; but none of these were included in the Piazza Grande, the biggest and most exacting of all the sections and in which, every year, the very best of independent productions from all over the world are shown.

Petit Indi is a fable about the loss of innocence and the lead is played by young newcomer Marc Soto, accompanied by Eduardo Noriega (with whom the director has worked previously, on Where is Madame Catherine? ), Eulalia Ramon, Sergi Lopez and Pere Subirana.

Synopsis:
Arnau is a young man who lives in his own imaginary world, immersed in his fragile version of reality, unconsciously drifting along, accompanied by a few songbirds: chaffinches, greenfinches, linnets and a goldfinch, which represents the hope of his life. None of the others can sing like this bird, thanks to many hours of patience and careful training. However, Arnau is deeply oppressed by something far more important: his mother is in the Vad-Ras prison awaiting trial. As things aren’t getting better, Arnau thinks up a plan to get his mother out of jail, a decision which forces him to confront the harsh reality of life.
