Scarlett Johansson is a bundle of nerves. The young actress is on the verge of starring in her first action film in which she will play a gladiatrix. "I’m a Jewish girl from New York. I don’t know if I am the typical action fighter".

The film The Amazon Warrior is set in 200 A.D. and tells the story of a beautiful woman who, alter witnessing the murder of her family, decides to become an intrepid warrior to satisfy her appetite for revenge.

Scarlett will combine the strength her character needs with her customary sensuality. Not for vanity’s sake, the actress has already begun a Couch physical training routine. “I’ve now practiced with all kinds of weapons: I’ve shot a 9 mm semi-automatic all the way up to a machine gun. I’ve taken jumps from tall buildings and ridden a horse. But, I’ve never played a total action character,” she admitted.

For the moment, it is not yet known who will direct the picture nor when filming will get underway. However, all indications are that it will be in the first quarter of this year.
