Producer Joel Silver has confirmed to The Los Angeles Times that Guy Ritchie is dropping direction of the film adaptation of the comic Lobo to focus on the second part of the hit detective story. "The studio [Warner Bros.] wants us and Guy to focus on making another 'Sherlock Holmes.' So we're trying to see if we can do something quickly with another 'Sherlock Holmes' movie. We have some ideas and some good story points," says Silver.
Warner will pick another director to make Lobo.
It seems that Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of the cast will be back in the sequel. Downey loves the experience of playing Sherlock and would love to play him again, and I'd love to see him play it again. Jude and all of them will be back and it will be great," adds Silver.
As for the rumour that Brad Pitt might appear in the sequel as Professor Moriarty, the producer wouldnt confirm or deny it, only saying that the doors remains open, but theyre not yet sure what theyre going to do about the part.
