Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws ) will star in this remake of the classic horror film. The movie, directed by Frenchman Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors), is once again about a lake infested with prehistoric creatures, where a group of strangers find themselves caught up in a deadly fight against the piranhas.

Shooting is due to start this month in Arizona, and the film premiere is scheduled for March 2010.

Piranha , directed by Joe Dante, was released in 1978 in the wake of the successful Steven Spielberg film Jaws. The poster is somewhat reminiscent too.
