Since its premiere on 25th September, the short film Ciclope , which is being shown in 90 cinema theatres throughout Spain with the feature film Los sustitutos , has been seen by 60.950 spectators to-date. The first Spanish film made entirely in high-definition 3D, Ciclope takes place in the Madrid of 2070. Directed by Carlos Morett, it has support from the Region of Madrid and has also received financing from the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Spain company.

The short film and Los sustitutos have in common a science fiction and anti-utopian theme. Consequently, they are aimed at the kind of audiences. Ciclope , starring Ivan Sanchez, Roberto Hoyas, Laura Sanchez, Lucia Hoyos and Emilio Buale, takes place in the future of a new Madrid, at the time the whole world has been transformed.

Chaos and violence had been taking over cities, so the most brilliant scientific minds created the Ciclopes , robots to protect the human race. However, a human error caused them to turn on humans instead, and the Ciclopes had to be exterminated. The atmosphere of the film was inspired by films like 300 or Sin City , but in a very artsy way and with a very limited budget.
