It started with the Airplane! saga, when the film industry decided to make fun of disaster movies, and returned with Scary Movie and its poking fun at the horror genre. Now, its Spains turn with "Spanish movie". The director is Javier Ruiz Caldera, and his aim is to parody some of the most unforgettable moments in Spanish Films. Carlos Areces, known for his participation in Cronicas Marcianas, puts on a wig to re-enact Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men. But, we also see making fun of other films, like The Others , The Sea Inside and Pans Labyrinth . Eduardo Noriega in Open Your Eyes doesnt escape teasing, either.
Areces is joined by Alexandra Jimenez, who, among other parts, plays Belen Rueda in The Orphanage . Rounding out the cast are Silvia Abril and Joaquin Reyes. Paco Cabezas (Sexykiller ) wrote the script for this spoof which began shooting in February and will arrive in Spanish cinemas in 2010.
