Lazarus Taxon , directed by Denis Rovira and produced by Polar Star Films, has received the award for Best Short Horror Film at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival (USA).
The short film falls into the science-fiction/horror category, although the way it was made places it closer to author-produced films (Haneke, Tarkovsky), seeking reflection with a social and critical undercurrent towards un unsustainable situation.
Lazarus Taxon is a story about survival and the limits of being a human being. When our loved ones pass away, we keep them in our hearts as the only way to hold on to them.
The short film, which has appeared in more than 30 international festivals, will next be participating at the ScreamFest in Los Angeles (USA), Maelstrom International Fantastic Film Festival (Seattle, USA), H.P. Lovercraft (Portland, USA), the Terror Film Festival Philadelphia (USA) and the Leeds International Film Festival (U.K.).
