"I have a dream". This, perhaps, is one of the most popular statements of all time. It was uttered by Martin Luther King Jr. in his speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. With those tremendous, moving speeches criticizing racial discrimination in the United States, Martin Luther King Jr. became the youngest man to win a Nobel Peace Prize, before his assassination at the age of just 39.
Perhaps inspired by Obamas conquest of the White House, Steven Spielberg wishes to make a film about the fascinating story of the Afro-American civil rights leader with his production company Dreamworks. "We are all honored that the King Estate is giving us the opportunity to tell the story of these defining, historic events," Spielberg announced.
We dont yet know who will be lucky enough to play the hero, but we imagine that many actors will have leapt to the phone to ask for an audition. In any case, this project will fulfill one of Spielberg and his partner Stacey Sniders dearest wishes; they have been trying to obtain legal permission to film this biopic for years.
