Age spares neither mortals nor film stars. Actor Sylvester Stallone, who apparently has failed to realise that at 62 you cant do somersaults like you can at 30, has broken his arm while filming a scene of the film The Expendables , which he is directing and starring in himself. Currently he is shooting in Brazil.

According to the Rio de Janeiro newspaper O Globo, the actor was only wearing knee pads as protective clothing. Apparently he refused to use a double in a scene which had a lot of action, a lot of shooting and a lot of jumps.

For this movie, Stallone brought together Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li and British actor Jason Statham, all classic action movie heroes. This film tells the story of a group of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South-American dictator.

No doubt one of the movies greatest attractions will be a cameo role by Arnold Schwarzenegger. His contribution will only be for one days filming and he will play himself: a former film star now turned Governor of California.
