The 11th Version Española / SGAE Iberoamerican Short Film Competition, run by the TVE television programme Version Española and the Spanish Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers (SGAE), is now open for entries. Also collaborating are Kodak, Casa de America and Aisge. This competition is designed to provide publicity and support for newcomers to this creative field.
Any short films produced between July 1, 2008 and July 1, 2009 by filmmakers from Spain and the Ibero-American community can be entered. The duration of the films may not exceed 30 minutes.
The organising committee, made up of representatives of Version Española and the SGAE, will make a preliminary selection, to be shown on the TVE programme, and then a jury composed of Spanish cinema professionals will choose the three winning works to be awarded first, second and third prize, of 20,000, 14,000, and 8,000 euros respectively.
Apart from these, the Casa de America Prize for the Best Latin American Director, the AISGE Award for the Best Male and Female Performances, and the Kodak Best Photography Prize will also be awarded.
