The third edition of Unifest, an international university short film festival, will soon open its doors again to audiovisual production by university students from around the world. At this edition, the festival aims to favor the professionalization of the participating short film makers, as well as to have a complete representation of Spanish universities. Europe will have a special place in Unifest 07, with a bringing together of cultural movements from the entire spectrum of European Union university students. Fuenlabrada, a community located to the south of Madrid, will be the place where this event takes place from 27th November to 1st December. Activities will encourage the visual arts, integration and the knowledge sharing between the short film-makers, the jury, professionals, the organizers themselves and, above all, the attending public. Unifest 07 has decided to increase the prizes to provide more resources for the short film-makers next works. More than 6,000 euros will be given out to the winners of the awards, divided into three categories: Fiction, with a first prize of 1,000 euros and a second prize of 500 euros; Animation, with a prize of 1,000 euros and Documentary, with a prize of 1,000 euros. Another prize will be the AVID prize for best Spanish short film, consisting of an AVID Professional Software package. More than ever, Europe has an important role at Unifest. At this edition, opportunities related to, above all, Training and Scholarships, will be promoted, thus encouraging improved knowledge of what’s happening at the university level throughout the continent.
