The two actors have been chosen to do a new romantic comedy.

While announced two years ago that Cameron Diaz would be starring in the romantic comedy Swingles, a modern version along the lines of When Harry Met Sally, it has now just been released to the media the news that she will be the actress signed up for another film in the same mold.

But, this time she will be joined by Tom Cruise. They have already worked together on Vanilla Sky, the American version of the Spanish film Open Your Eyes, in which another Spanish actress, Penelope Cruz, also starred.

The new romantic comedy will be directed by James Mangold and it tells the story of a woman who has bad luck with men until she seems to find her ideal lover on a blind date.

Neither of the two performers has signed a contract, but the producer, 20th Century Fox, has placed a big bet on this project.

The screenplay was written by Scott Frank, who currently has a big hit with Marley & Me . Frank also wrote Minority Report for Cruise.

To start with, Eva Mendes and Chris Tucker have been chosen to star in the film. In fact, Tom Cruise was going perform in Mangolds last film El tren de las 3:10 , but in the end, Christian Bale and Russell Crowe had the leading roles.
