As in the United States, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen , has been a huge box-office hit in Spain. Taking in over 200 million dollars in the US, approaching the figures for the celebrated success of The Dark Knight , in Spain it has done comparably well. The film has recorded 2,096,555 euros in box-office receipts in the Spanish market since last Wednesday.

The difference between this film and the second place finisher, <i>Millennium: Part 1: Men Who Hate Women , is stunning, with the no. 2 film selling 449,192 euros in tickets. Third place went to Inkheart , at 382,826 euros, followed byTerminator Salvation , at 290,053 euros.

The film starring Beyonce Knowles, Obsessed , dropped to fifth position in its second week in Spanish cinemas. The predictability of the story took its toll, as shown by the 269,867 euros it received at the box office.

Angels & Demons can’t complain. After nearly two months in Spanish theatres, it hasn’t fallen to less than seventh place. After seven weeks, it has taken in a total of 14,859,432 euros. The next two places went to the children’s films Lilly the Witch: the Dragon and the Magic Book , (247,706 euros), and Coraline (224,993 euros).

Transformers , only one premiere last week was able to make the Top Ten ranking of most seen films in Spain. After being a big hit across Europe, it is hoped LOL will do the same in Spain, although it won’t be easy. In its debut week, it had 192,985 euros in box-office sales. Closing out the list is Renee Zellweger comedy New in Town at 153,564 euros.
