Filmmaker Oliver Stone has signed an agreement with 20th Century Fox to direct the second part of the film Wall Street (1987). This earlier picture, also directed by Stone, starred no less than Michael Douglas and both Martin and Charlie Sheen. At the moment, two titles are being considered: Wall Street 2 or Money Never Sleeps.
The project will focus on the current economic crisis and the continual grey-area games, between whats legal and whats not, played by top executives. The script will be written by Allan Loeb, who has written other films like 21: Black Jack or Things We Lost in the Fire.
Michael Douglas will once again play Gordon Gekko, the role which got him an Oscar for Best Performance. Secondly, Shia LaBeouf (screen son of Indiana Jones) is now in negotiations about the possibility of playing a young stockbroker, very similar to Charlie Sheens character in the original film.
What we dont know is how they are going to explain Gekkos return, given that he went to jail for 14 years for fraud.
