The film is a comedy entitled Chicas. The French play-write, author of the popular work Art, has decided to go into film directing, choosing to adapt one of her works: "Une piece espagnole" [A Spanish Piece]. The work, written by Reza in 2004, tells of the romantic misadventures of a Spanish widow (Carmen Maura) living in Paris, a city where she has spent a large part of her life and brought up her three children. There she meets a portly older gentleman who she falls in love with. Their troubles start to unravel when she introduces her new fiance to her three daughters, one of them a divorced actress past her prime (played by Emmanuelle Seigner) who takes a position completely opposed to the relationship.
The filming, which has just begun in the city of Malaga, will continue in the French cities of Toulouse and Paris.
