This actor, who leapt to fame after playing the lead role in High School Musical, and stars in 17 Again, about to be released, has been confirmed for Johnny Quest and it is rumoured that he could be the new Marty McFly in the remake of Back to the Future.
After Robert Pattinsons explosion onto the big screen as the star of Twilight, many people thought that was the end of Zac Efron, still stuck in his adolescent lead role in Disneys High School Musical. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Efron has charged up his batteries and work is just piling up. In the short-term, well see him in the film 17 Again, in which he plays the 17-year-old in question reliving his teenage years of high-school popularity after a sudden journey back in time. Matthew Perry (Chandler in Friends), plays Mile ODonnell in his thirties, selling pharmaceutical products and going through an existential crisis.
Apart from that, it has just been confirmed that Zac Efron will be Johnny Quest in Warners new project. This popular cartoon series from the sixties, created by Hanna-Barbera, is about a ten-year-old boy who, along with his dog Bandit, adopted brother Hadji, father Dr. Benton Quest, and Race Bannon, has exciting adventures all over the world. Andy Fickman and Dwayne Johnson may also join the project.
But it doesnt stop here. For a while it has been rumoured that Universal Pictures plans to do a remake of the classic Back to the Future. In a recent interview with Teen Hollywood, Zac said that he has always been in love with the saga and that if the opportunity arose he would love to play Marty McFly. The return of Michael J. Fox has also been talked about, but this time he would be playing the scientist Doc.
