Director Robert Zemeckis willl be undertaking the remake of the animated film Yellow Submarine , which in its day served as a vehicle to promote one of the Beatles most famous tunes.
Zemeckis intends to bring the popular Beatles song back to the big screen, and also wants the only two members of the Liverpudlian band still alive today, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star, to take part. So they have been invited to participate in this 3D adaptation, which is designed to be an exemplary conversion of this sixties film into a digital era movie.
"The Beatles have always been a great source of inspiration to me, declared the producer-director and writer of the future film, the provisional title of which is to be Yellow Submarine: The Digital Trip .
Zemeckis is one of the directors who enjoys the most international recognition, especially after the film Forrest Gump, for which he won six Oscars in 1994, including Best Director. He has also been behind other famous productions such as Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.
