Built around intimately told personal stories of survivors and soldiers, AGAINST ALL ODDS portrays the horrifying story of Malta, a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean, and its people, during the tragic years of World War II. Maltas geographical position was ideal for disrupting the steady flow of re-enforcements much needed by Rommels troops in North Africa. This miniscule island held the outcome of the war in both the Mediterranean and African theatres. Its strategic importance made it impossible for the British to give it up and for the Nazis to let it be. The Maltese people were merely caught in the middle and had to fight a war that was not theirs. The Second siege of Malta is an international project with global implications that strikes at the meaning of war.
