Fleeing from former Yugoslavia to avoid conscription, Miki Punsic was sure he would return soon. But the war escalated, spread to new territories, and seemed to have no end. Miki settled down in Spain, giving puppet shows, and never went back to his wife Amela and his daughter Irina. A refugee in a foreign country, Miki receives support and affection from a social worker, Jana, but keeps his family a secret.
